blog is a funny word

I created my own blog a couple years back as a place to display my creative writing for the hoards of adoring fans (thanks, you two) who were dying to read it. There’s something exciting about posting your work to the Interweb–putting it out there for god-knows-who to read. And regardless of how many people actually visit my site, I’m happy with it–I don’t post work unless I’m proud of it and actually think someone, anyone might get a good read out of it.

But sometimes I have the urge to post thoughts, ideas and hair brained schemes that are…shall we say…less than literary. And I don’t want to soil the blog I’ve created out of a pile of my most personal, earnest *professional* work with rants about meter maids or second-hand recipes for King Ranch Casserole.

So you see my predicament. I decided to create a new blog…a bloggier blog, if you will…for everything else. I will still tend to the other, more highbrow incarnation, but now there’s this. Look at it this way–if my other blog is a sexy, effortlessly put together intellectual in horn rimmed glasses and a skirt suit, then this blog is what that blog looks like first thing in the morning or late at night after one too many drinks. Still the same gal, but less refined.

I hope you enjoy this gal. I am all for doing what it takes to keep myself entertained, but I hope you find some entertainment (or inspiration, or laughter, or whatever else you may hope to find) here as well.
